# Employee Schedule Usage

### Employee Signup

All _Employees_ (and _Managers_) on ShiftApp need their own _User Account_ so that they can log in at _[https://shiftapp.com/](https://shiftapp.com/)_ to check their schedule and log in using the ShiftApp Mobile Apps.

You may have received an email from your shift manager with a request to join your workforce and its schedules on ShiftApp.

Follow the instructions in the email and sign up to create your ShiftApp user account.

After creating your account, you'll be emailed a link to _activate_ your account. Please click on this _Activation Link_ to activate your account.

If you're not already automatically connected to your workforce, or if you already have a ShiftApp account, then use the _Job Invite Code_ from the invitation email in the add new job form.

#### ProTip

Please check your email, including your Spam/Junk folders, for any emails from ShiftApp and please mark them as _NOT Spam_. If you're not receiving emails from ShiftApp then please try adding _support@shiftapp.com_ to your email system address-book/contact-list to help with email delivery.

### Review the Schedule

Exactly how much information you, as an _employee_, get to see on the schedule view depends on the _Workforce Settings_ that have been set by the _schedule managers_ or _Workforce Owner._

A typical schedule view might look something like the annotated screenshot above.

You'll see both _confirmed_ shifts (to which the manager probably won't be making any more changes) and shifts with a _draft_ status which are still being planned.

### Update your Availability

_Set your availability on the schedule web view_

If your workforce is using the ShiftApp _Availability_ feature then you can update your availability on the web schedule view or from the ShiftApp Mobile App.

You can register your availability in advance. Using the controls on the schedule, you can indicate yourself as _available_(green/free to work) or _unavailable_(red/busy).

#### ProTip

Employees should discuss their general availability with the _schedule managers_ and also discuss how they would like them to use the ShiftApp _Availability_ feature_._

Updating your _availability_ on ShiftApp provides helpful information to your schedule managers when they are planning and allocating shifts.

### Update your Shift Interest

If your workforce uses the _Shift Interest_ feature, you might be able to indicate your specific interest for shifts you are not yet assigned to.

You can set your _Shift Interest_ for an upcoming shift by clicking the _Willing_ button in the shift details box.

Depending on the _Workforce Settings_ your managers choose, you can also set your Shift Interest to _Reluctant_.

### Update your Shift Agreements

If your _Workforce_ uses the ShiftApp _Shift Agreement_ feature, then you can respond to your assigned shifts.

You can indicate your _Shift Agreement_ for an upcoming shift by clicking the accept button in the _shift details box_.

Many schedule managers like to see your Shift Agreement set to _Accept_ as an acknowledgement that you've seen the schedule and are aware of the upcoming shift.

Depending on the _Workforce Settings_ set by your schedule managers, you might also be able to set _decline_ on an assigned shift. Please Note: Even if you've _declined_ a shift, you are still required to work it - unless a schedule manager _removes_ you from the shift.

_Set your Shift Agreement from the Home page_

Your assigned shifts will appear on your ShiftApp Home page. In the Upcoming Shifts section, you can also click here to update your _Shift Agreements_.
