Filling the extra shifts
Before you assign an open shift, staff can mark it as one they would be willing, or reluctant, to work. You see their shift interest next to their name as you assign, so the extra Saturday goes to someone who wants it.
Part-time staff mark when they can and can't work in availability, and you see it as you build the schedule. Staff can ask for cover in team chat, and you make the change on the schedule.
One venue or several
Give each venue, or each area such as the kitchen, the bar and front of house, its own schedule, and plan them together or one at a time. Staff who work in more than one place can be put on shifts in each.
Common questions
Can I give someone a split shift?
Yes. Put them on two shifts on the same day, for example lunch and dinner service.
Can late shifts run past midnight?
Yes. Set your schedule hours to finish the next day, and late shifts can run over midnight.
What about seasonal staff?
Add them as employees for the season, then deactivate them afterwards. They stop counting towards your plan, and their shifts stay on the schedule for your records.
Can I print the schedule for the kitchen wall?
Yes. Print it as a PDF on A4, A3, Letter or Tabloid paper, in color or black and white, with each person's photo.
